Guru Purnima celebrations

Navya, Varsha and I learn music from Pendse Music Academy in Thane. Our teacher – Sh. Mohan Pendse organizes an event each year where every student plays a small song as a dedication to Guru and expressing gratitude for what we learn. I am happy to share our recordings here:

Navya – Keyboard

Navya performed a bollywood song on Keyboard. It was nice to see her play it well with the beats.

Varsha – Raag Bhimpalas

Varsha played the violin – a classical song ( Swaramalika ) on the Raag Bhimpalas. She played it on Teen Taal beats ( 16 beats ).

Nagesh – Guru Bhajan

I attempted to play the popular bhajan – Guru Paramatma Pareshu, originally sung by the great singer Suresh Wadkar. It is set to the Roopak Taal beats ( 7 beats ). I was not too confident to play with the tabla, so did it freestyle 😀
